Operated by chef Peter Ballarin, it is located at 71.5 Charles Street. Located in the basement of a rowhouse (the low entrance archway is inscribed with the painted warning “Ouch”), the intimate bistro with a picturesque backyard patio bills itself as Boston’s most romantic restaurant and claims more marriage proposals have been made here than anyplace else in the city. It closes on September 4, 2019.
